Tool abrasives are a wide group of tool accessories that are used to shape, sand, and cut a range of materials including wood, plastic, composites, ferrous, and nonferrous metals. Abrasive accessories can be divided into one of five general categories including: discs, wheels, belts, sheets or burrs available in a range of burring accessories in an assortment of shapes. Disc and wheel abrasives allow cutting or shaping, while belts and sheets permit quick shaping and smoothing of a variety of surfaces.
